Star Wars has always delivered exciting action sequences and great visuals, but that's not what drew generations of fans to the franchise for so long.

Stories like The Bad Batch set Star Wars apart from other action-packed shows because family and emotions are at the heart of the plot. The action helps to build towards emotional moments, and The Bad Batch Episode 4 does exactly that. The action and suspense for the majority of the episode make its final few minutes feel like they were worth the wait.

Omega's been separated from her family since the end of Season 2, and her emotional reunion shows us the strength of the familial bonds she has formed with each of them. They've missed her terribly and searched the galaxy multiple times in hopes of finding her. They're relieved to have her back, especially after losing Tech, and in many ways, Crosshair. Omega is back where she belongs, and she's brought Crosshair back with her. Though the ending is a cliffhanger, and it's hard to predict exactly how Wrecker and Hunter will react to Crosshair's return, it will surely be worth the week-long wait.

Somewhere, we all knew that Omega would be reunited with her brothers, so it was an expected reunion. It's Crosshair's return that was in doubt, as many fans thought he might die before he makes it back to his family, or die before he's redeemed. It's nice to see that Crosshair's redemption arc is in motion, and it's a slow process. He doesn't need to sacrifice his life to be redeemed, which means that we'll get to see what happens when someone attempts to make amends for their actions. This is something we haven't seen much of in Star Wars, as redemption has usually meant death for characters in the franchise.

Characters like Asajj Ventress come to mind when it comes to changing their ways and doing the right thing, and now we'll see how the show handles Crosshair's return to the light, more or less. The writing of the series has been brilliant, so the remaining 11 episodes of the show should allow Crosshair to have the perfect redemption arc. We're looking forward to his journey from this point onwards, and his return to his family shows that everyone deserves a second chance.

In fiction, there should be room for forgiveness and a new beginning, even for someone as stubborn as Crosshair.

The Bad Batch Season 3 is streaming every week on Disney+.
