It's a new year, which means there are plenty of comics and trade paperbacks released each week. Dork Side of the Force is proud to continue bringing you the latest news about their releases. Whether it's Marvel comics, Dark Horse, Viz Media, and everything in between, we will cover it here!

2024 kicks off with two familiar fan favorites setting the stage for the year. Despite my bummed out feelings that Star Wars: Visions - Takashi Okazaki #1 was supposed to be released today but got pushed back to February, Darth Vader #42 and Star Wars The High Republic: Shadows of Starlight #4 do not disappoint.

Darth Vader #42

Written by Greg Pak with Adam Gorham at the helm as the artist, Darth Vader #42 continues to deal with the fallout of the Dark Droids comic event that wrapped up last month. Darth Vader explores his new found abilities thanks to the Scourge while Emperor Palpatine is dealing with his own series of threats to the Empire. Sly Moore returns, and she is simply having the best Renaissance in the comic world. I do hope we get more of her on-screen because her story in the Vader comics has been a real treat. There is also the arrival of a surprising face: a young Enric Pryde from The Rise of Skywalker. Knowing where his story ends, this is set to be an interesting new tale.

The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight #4

Shadows of Starlight continues is fantastic run in its fourth issue focusing on the leader of the Nihil, Marchion Ro, reveling in his victory. He has brought down the Republic's Starlight Beacon and released a threat that targets the Jedi Order. What does the man who brought the Jedi Order and the Republic to its knees do next? This issue is written by Charles Soule and the artist is David Messina.

That's it for new comics this week. Keep checking back with Dork Side of the Force for all things new in Star Wars comics.
