This week in Star Wars Comics: Leia Organa's dire choice for Rebellion
It's another Wednesday which means it's time to jump into the splash pages This Week in Star Wars Comics! We're setting up one big finale, checking in with our favorite High Republic newly knighted Jedi, and seeing which trade paperbacks came out this week.
Let's get into it!
Star Wars #49
It's hard being a symbol of hope for a Rebellion all the time. Last month's issue of Star Wars was an emotional dive into Leia Organa's survivor's guilt and the pressure she feels. She and Luke Skywalker decided to check in on a group of surviving Alderaanians that didn't check in, only to find it's a trap! Star Wars #49 puts Leia in a position where she must choose between her people and the Rebel Alliance once again. This issue is written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Jethro Morales, and the cover artist is Stephen Segovia.
The High Republic Adventures #9
Stuck behind enemy lines, Lula, Zeen, and their Jedi companions Farzala and Qort need allies before the Nihil invasion of Eriadu begins. They must turn to the found families, including the Tarkins, to try and gather support from the people of this world before it's too late. The High Republic Adventures #9 is written by Daniel José Older, the illustrator is Toni Bruno, and the cover artist of Harvey Tolibao.
Star Wars: Mace Windu – The Twilight Run
There is one trade paperback out this week! It's Star Wars: Mace Windu—The Twilight Run. This is a collection of the Mace Windu miniseries from earlier this year, written by Marc Bernardin and illustrated by Georges Jeanty. It focuses on Mace while he's still a Jedi Knight trying to stop a war between the Hutts and the Republic. A deadly secret has fallen into the hands of a wily pirate, and Mace must team up with her to protect the future of the galaxy.
That's it for this week's edition of This Week in Star Wars Comics! Next time, we wrap up the month of August! See you in the splash pages!
