It's another Wednesday, which means it's time to look at what's new this week in Star Wars comics! It's a big week as a new mini-series kicks off alongside the latest adaptation of the TV shows. Let's jump right in!

Star Wars: Mace Windu #1

Episode I: The Phantom Menace turns 25 this year, which means there are many tie-in novels and books coming to the party. One is Star Wars: Mace Windu, which is starting this week! First announced at New York Comic Con last year, the story follows the Jedi Master before he was even a master, hunting down a secret threatening to fall into the wrong hands. It's so big that the Hutts and the Republic want to control it. The writer is Marc Bernardin with Georges Jeanty, and the cover artist is Mateus Manhanini.

The first issue was teased a few weeks ago, showcasing the issue #1 cover. StarWars.com shared about the book, "The House of Ideas’Star Wars: Mace Winduminiseries kicks off next month, dialing back the clock for a Mace story set before the Clone Wars — and before the purple-sabered Windu was even a Jedi Master. In StarWars.com’s first look at issue #1, Mace arrives at the ocean moon of Devshi, hot on the trail of some escaped droid convicts…"

Obi-Wan Kenobi #5

Jody Houser and Salvador Larroca are back for the next installment of the adapatation of Obi-Wan Kenobi. This issue covers the events of episode 5. As with all of the adaptation comics, these usually don't add new story or information outside of the rare exception. Still, these are a lot of fun to see beloved episodes in a new art style. And this one is definitely for the Hayden Christensen fans out there with flashback to Obi-Wan's padawan before the Clone Wars. As Obi-Wan Kenobi comes to a close, the next comic adaptation for Ahsoka is on the horizon.

That's it for this week in Star Wars comics! See you next time!
