This week in Star Wars comics: Luke seeks a Sith for help
It's Wednesday, so it's time for another week to check out what Star Wars comics are released today. We'll also look ahead to Tuesday for a peek at the latest trade paperback from Dark Horse Comics.
Star Wars #42
Now that the Dark Droids comic event has wrapped up, Star Wars #42 jumps back in with Luke Skywalker continuing his Jedi training again. He knows he must face his father, Darth Vader. However, he can barely even call himself a Jedi. Picking up the previous story where he acquired a Sith kyber crystal, Luke embarks on a quest to learn how to defeat a Stih... from another Sith Lord. Star Wars #42 is written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Steven Cummings, the inker is Wayne Faucher, and the cover artist is Stephen Segovia.
The Mandalorian Season 2 #8
The adaptation comic for The Mandalorian brings the second season to a close. These comics aren't any new stories, but they are neat if you love seeing your favorite characters in different art styles. This issue tackles "Chapter 16: The Rescue" as Din Djarin pulls together a team to rescue Grogu from Moff Gideon. The writer is Rodney Barnes, the illustrator is Steven Cummings, and the cover artist is Felipe Massafera.
Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories Volume 2 – Scum and Villainy
Out on Tuesday January 16 is the next edition of Dark Horse Comics all ages series Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories. The second volume Scum and Villainy covers issues 5-8. As the title says, these stories focused on the more villainous characters. Asajj Ventress, Kylo Ren, Boba Fett, and a young Greedo facing off against Jabba the Hutt. This series is great if you have young ones wanting to read a Star Wars story, especially from all parts of the franchise, Hyperspace Stories is a great book that all ages can enjoy.
That's it for this week's Star Wars comics. Keep checking back with Dork Side of the Force for more comic news.
