Let's check out everything going on This Week in Star Wars Comics!
The High Republic: The Edge of Balance, Vol. 3
A horrible Blight is spreading across the galaxy, turning any world it touches into dust. The villainous leader of the Nihil, Marchion Ro, is weaponizing this to help strengthen his reign of terror. Jedi Knight Lily Tora-Asi is standing her ground at the Banchii Jedi Temple, refusing to abandon the planet. Along with her old master, the Wookiee Jedi Master Arkoff, they intend to hold the line. However, secrets begin to arise from Arkoff's past which could change everything.
The High Republic: The Edge of Balance, Vol. 3 is written by Shima Shinya and Daniel José Older with illustrator Mizuki Sakakibara. This manga is out now wherever you get your books.
Darth Vader #49
If there was an issue of a comic that essentially the "[Expletive] around and find out" issue, that is the penultimate issue of Darth Vader. The titular Sith Lord is facing the consequences of his actions from the last few arcs with Sly Moore and her Schism Imperial betraying him. The final fight for unlimited power is underway that will decide the future of the Empire.
Darth Vader #49 is written by Greg Pak with Raffaele Ienco as the illustrator. Leinil Francis Yu is the cover artist for the issue. This story sets up the final issue, which will bring the series to a close in September along with the mainline Star Wars series. Both will reboot after the comic event Star Wars: Battle of Jakku — Insurgency Rising in October which focuses on The Battle of Jakku.
That's it for This Week in Star Wars Comics! See you next time in the splash pages!
