Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni is set to helm a highly anticipated yet untitled Star Wars film that aims to bring together the storylines of various Disney+ shows. This film is rumored to serve as a culmination of the interconnected narratives seen in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and possibly other series within the same timeline. While official updates on the project have been scarce, new rumors suggest that Skeleton Crew might play a significant role in the cinematic crossover.

Via ComicBookMovie and scooper Daniel Richtman, characters from Skeleton Crew, the latest Disney+ Star Wars series, will appear in Filoni’s movie. If true, this expands the scope of the crossover, weaving yet another thread into the sprawling galaxy far, far away.

However, it’s still unclear which Skeleton Crew characters will make the hyperspace jump to the big screen. The series centers on four kids — Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), KB (Kyriana Kratter), Neel (Robert Timothy Smith), and Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) — who stumble upon a mysterious discovery on their home planet and embark on an interstellar adventure. While the young crew seems relatively safe for now, the fate of Jude Law’s enigmatic character, Jod Na Nawood, remains uncertain. If you're not yet caught up on the show, beware of spoilers below.

In recent Skeleton Crew episodes, Jod has shown his true colors. He betrayed his young companions and took over by challenging their captain, Fern. This led to his capture by Captain Brutus and his pirates in Episode 6, "Zero Friends Again," However, he narrowly avoided being jettisoned into space by promising untold riches hidden on At Attin. Whether his cunning and instinct for self-preservation will see him through the series remains to be seen.

With Skeleton Crew nearing its conclusion, fans speculate that the final two episodes might include surprises that tie into other parts of the galaxy. Could these twists set the stage for Jod or other characters to join the ensemble cast of Filoni’s film?

Adding to the buzz, the show’s impressive creative team — featuring Academy Award winners Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Everything Everywhere All At Once), as well as directors Bryce Dallas Howard (The Mandalorian), Lee Isaac Chung (Twisters), David Lowery (The Green Knight), and Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts) — has built anticipation around the series.

For now, the crossover remains firmly in the realm of rumor. Still, with Filoni at the helm and a rich tapestry of Disney+ stories to draw from, fans like me can’t help but dream of the possibilities.
