With Tales of the Underworld, when is Star Wars: Visions Season 3 coming out?

I could just wait until Celebration for an official announcement, but where's the fun in that?

Tales of the Underworld was announced earlier this week, which was a surprise to me. Not because I didn't think that they wouldn't do another Tales series. It's more that it broke the pattern.

For the last four years, Tales and Star Wars: Visions have alternated their release order. Visions has been the odd years, and Tales were the even one. If the pattern continued, then Tales would have come out in 2026 with Visions having the 2025 slot.

So then, when is Visions coming out if Tales took its slot this year?

I know we're more than likely going to get a release date announcement for Star Wars: Visions Season 3 at Star Wars Celebration Japan in just a couple of weeks. But where is the fun in waiting when we can just speculate on a possible date?

If I had to guess, we are getting both anthology shows this year because of one thing: The next ongoing animated show.

On the Celebration schedule, there is the Lucasfilm Animation’s 20th Anniversary panel. It was specifically teased on StarWars.com that we will see a sneak peek of what's next. This is probably going to reveal what the next animated show will be since The Bad Batch ended last year. Having both Tales and Visions coming out this year will help bridge the gap until then, which I would suspect the next animated show would have an earlier in the year release date. The Bad Batch had January and February release dates for Seasons 2 and 3.

So the back to the original question: When is Visions Season 3 coming out? Being booted out of the May the 4th slot for Tales, think it's going to return to its Season 1 release date, which was in September. Tales Season 1 was in October. After Andor being the Spring series and with no other shows that we know of coming later this year, that would fill in the Fall timeslot to have something for fans to watch until 2026.

We'll see what they say at Star Wars Celebration! It's April 18-20 in Japan, and it will be a fun weekend for news. Stay tuned to Dork Side of the Force for more updates!
