A holiday surprise came early! It looks like The Bad Batch is going to be a novel in 2025.
According to Star Wars News Net, there is a listing on the Penguin Random House UK website for Star Wars: Sanctuary, which is listed as a novel for The Bad Batch. The current release date is August 5, 2025 and is written by Lamar Giles. Keep in mind as this is not an official announcement, this release date is subject to change.
This isn't the first time Giles has written for Star Was. He wrote the short story "Twenty and Out" for From A Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi. It will be exciting to see how he tackles Clone Force 99 when he has an entire novel to work with.
While The Bad Batch ended earlier this year, it's not the end of the group of clones. It was announced earlier this year that they have a new comic book starting in January from Dark Horse Comics. The miniseries Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents focuses on the days of the Batch during the Clone Wars. Sadly, this means we won't get Omega in the mix, but at least Tech is back, alive, and nothing bad will surely happen to him and his brothers! Ghost Agents is written by Michael Moreci and illustrated by Reese Hannigan. It will arrive in comic book stores on January 15, 2025.
The Bad Batch was a spinoff series from The Clone Wars when the titular characters made their debut in Season 7. The show won over fans as it featured the earliest days of the Empire, showing how the clones were phased out of service and what happened to these lost soldiers. The series paired well with the Mandoverse, helping to lay the foundation for the sequel trilogy.
The Bad Batch is now available on Disney+.
