Disney and Gameloft's cozy life sim, Disney Dreamlight Valley will be receiving some items from a galaxy far, far away on April 23. The items will premiere in Disney Dreamlight Valley's next update, which is titled Wonderland Whimsy. The announcement came via a developer update, which can be found on YouTube.

Fans hoping for a storyline or for Star Wars characters to move into their valley are out of luck, as these items are mostly cosmetic only. The Star Wars items coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley include a set of familiar-looking Jedi robes worn by Anakin Skywalker on Naboo, a lightsaber hand accessory that comes with an exclusive photo pose, and R2-D2 will be available as a companion in the game.

The items themselves will be available for purchase from the game's Premium Shop. The Premium Shop is where players can buy cosmetic items such as clothing, companions, furniture, etc. It's pretty cool that they're adding Star Wars content to the game, even if the content is mainly just cosmetic items.

As cool as it would be to have characters like Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Cassian Andor being able to move in, it would probably break the immersion of the game being a cozy life sim. This seems like the next best way for Gameloft to give Star Wars fans what they want without compromising the coziness of Disney Dreamlight Valley.

While prices aren't yet known for how much the items will be, we don't have long to wait as the Wonderland Whimsy update launches next week on April 23. It's been a while since I've played Disney Dreamlight Valley, but being able to dress up as a Jedi, have a lightsaber, and have R2-D2 as a companion might be what brings me back around to playing it again.

For those who have never heard of or played Disney Dreamlight Valley, it's similar to Nintendo's Animal Crossing, where players create a home and community for themselves, but instead of being neighbors with humanoid animals, you're neighbors with Disney characters. If cozy games are your jam, you might like Disney Dreamlight Valley.
