If you're like me, you've been sitting on the edge of your seat for any release date/pre-order info for the new Star Wars: Legion Starter Sets. Luckily, I have some good news! Not only are there release dates for the new starter sets, but they're available for pre-order, as well!
The Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire starter sets will be released first, with both of them releasing on September 19 this year. The Separatist Alliance and Galactic Republic starter sets will release a little over a month later on November 7.
While it was currently reported that they'd cost $95, their price has been increased to $99.99, which honestly is pretty fair for a starter set, especially since other wargames starter sets cost almost double that.

Starter Set Contents
Each Star Wars: Legion starter set will come with 600 points worth of models, which means each set comes with a recon-level-sized army. On top of that, each starter set will also come with what you need to play the game, too, which includes the special dice the Star Wars: Legion system uses, templates, movement tools, range tools, command cards, upgrade cards, and last but certainly not least, battle cards.
Each starter set will also get a leader of their faction, which is included in the 600 points. The Empire gets Darth Vader, the Separatists get General Grievous, the Galactic Republic gets Obi-Wan and a Jedi Guardian, and the Rebel Alliance gets Luke Skywalker as their leader.
If you're wondering why the Galactic Republic kit gets both Obi-Wan Kenobi and a Jedi Guardian, it's because the Jedi Guardian leads the ARF troopers that come in the box. Jedi Guardians are also able to lead ARC troopers, which could make for a good addition for anyone looking to add to their clone army once the box releases.
Something I'm really looking forward to once the new starter kits arrive is the fact they're going to be in hard plastic, which means you can use plastic glue on them. I'm not a fan of resin, metal, or minis from anything else besides plastic. Them being in hard plastic just makes them easier to assemble and, in my opinion, also paint.
Stay tuned because over the next few days, I'm going to do an article for each new Star Wars: Legion starter kit breaking down the contents of each box and what I think of them.
