May the Schwartz be with us all, because the first teaser for Spaceballs 2 is here! It also confirmed the return of a very key character.

Released on his social media pages, via Gizmodo, creator Mel Brooks revealed his return as Yogurt, the parody of Yoda from the Star Wars films. It was preceded by a crawl discussing all the prequels, sequels, prequels of sequels, and more from Star Wars and other franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avatar, and more.

This was not the only announcement for the beloved parody movie. As reported by Deadline, Rick Moranis and Bill Pullman look to be reprising their roles as Dark Helmet and Lone Starr. Keke Palmer is also joining the cast for an unknown role. They will join Josh Gad, who has already been confirmed to star in the movie and is one of the scriptwriters and producers for the film.

Spaceballs is a fantastic parody of Star Wars and other sci-fi films, coming out in 1987 after the success of George Lucas' work. The story follows Lone Starr and his faithful pal Barf (John Candy), who are tasked with rescuing Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) from the clutches of the evil Lord Dark Helmet and President Skroob (Brooks). It's unknown at this time if Zuniga will also reprise her role as Vespa. Also, two of the writers for the film are Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, who were the creators of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, which has its own upcoming second season.

If you are a younger Star Wars fan and you've never seen Spaceballs, do yourself a favor and find it now. It's a timeless classic up there with Brooks' other works like Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Young Frankenstein. No one does parody like Brooks does, and his work is needed now more than ever. He has never shied away from calling out big corporations and the government powers that be while giving audiences an outlet to laugh at them, too. With all the sequels, prequels, and prequels of sequels that Star Wars has done in the last ten years, I'm sure we're going to have a good chuckle along the way.

Spaceballs 2 arrives in theaters 2027.
