The finale of Skeleton Crew, "The Real Good Guys" answered important questions about Jod Na Nawood and At Attin, but that doesn't stop us from wondering what the future holds for them.

Jod Na Nawood's plan to get rich failed in the finale of Skeleton Crew, and At Attin's barrier was lifted, ending its era of isolation and making it a part of the galaxy.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, series creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford discussed the show's finale in detail. They addressed questions about Jod's redemption, the show's future, and much more, including what Jod was thinking in the episode's final moments and At Attin's role in the larger galaxy.

One of the most gripping moments of the finale came towards the end, when Wim, Wendle, Fern, and Fara escaped the Supervisor's chamber, and Wim called out to Jod, who didn't budge. This moment, plus the entire scene of Jod watching the pirate ship crash in complete silence, are scenes that stayed with me long after the episode ended. If the show hadn't made Jod intriguing enough already, these mysterious moments sure did and made me want to see more of Jod in the aftermath.

Creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford are just as compelled by these fascinating moments, and the duo credits Jude Law's performance for turning this simple moment into something deeper. Christopher Ford admits, "I've watched this episode 10,000 times in editing and in every stage of post-production, but watching it last night with my family, that was the part that kind of actually made me feel something I hadn't felt before for some reason."

"Just him now alone and thinking his thoughts, ruminating. That hit me in a way that it hadn't before."
Christopher Ford.

Jon Watts admitted he read through comments on Reddit to see how fans reacted to Jod watching as his plans crashed and burned to the ground within seconds, and he was left alone, while the kids left with their parents.

"I was trawling Reddit while you were watching with your family. Different people were reading different things. Some people were like, 'Oh, he's happy to finally have to drop this ruse.' Or it's like, 'No, he's regretful because he's looking out at this perfect family landscape and he's all alone.'"
Jon Watts.

For Watts, the scene depicts Jod when he's feeling the full effect of his plans "going down in flames."

When the duo is asked about the show's future, they make it clear that the children's growth spurts will be factored into a possible Season 2, and a time-lapse will be written into the story. Ford is curious to see how "events of the other shows would impact At Attin." By "other shows," Ford is referring to The Mandalorian and Ahsoka - the other two shows set in the New Republic timeline. Ford cites "historical events" could play a role in how Season 2 will shape up.

The biggest historical event could be on the horizon, courtesy of Grand Admiral Thrawn's return to the galaxy. With At Attin "now officially a part of the larger galaxy", Thrawn could be drawn to the planet and its wealth, so a return to At Attin in future projects remains a possibility.
