There's no denying that the four kids at the heart of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew are largely responsible for the positive attention the show is getting, but everything about the story got more intriguing with the introduction of Jude Law's Jod Na Nawood. The Academy Award-nominated British actor has won praise and twenty awards for his work, and as of December 12, 2024, he is a permanent part of Los Angeles when Law received a star on the Walk of Fame.

What is the Walk of Fame?

The Hollywood Walk of Fame has been an attraction in Los Angeles since February 9, 1960. California tourism site Or Los Angeles quotes its champion E.M. Stuart as proposing a "'boulevard of stars' to showcase the contributions of artists to the entertainment industry." It covers three blocks of Vine Street and 15 blocks on Hollywood Boulevard.

Jude Law's terrazzo and brass star is the 2,798th star to be installed and is included in the category of Motion Pictures. Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez had this to say about Thursday's honoree:

"Jude Law's incredible talent and dedication to his craft have captivated audiences around the world."

Kelly Knox of StarWars.com notes that he has played "a renowned professor of wizardry, a haughty alien commander, the sidekick to the world's most famous detective, a king of England, and a clever pirate captain in a galaxy far, far away... with passion and natural charm." Law joins Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Carl Weathers, Ming-Na Wen, and Ewan McGregor in the pantheon of Star Wars actors to have a Walk of Fame star to their credit.

What are Jude Law's thoughts on the Walk of Fame honor?

At the ceremony, Law paid tribute to those who have helped him throughout his storied career. "The need to collaborate is very much at the heart of the medium's biggest reward," he said before saying that those he's "collaborated with over thirty years, the people who learned from and been encouraged by, guided by, and inspired by, they're the reason I have this star." He also mentioned that his parents encouraged his love of film from his early childhood and "To have a place here amongst the talent that I grew up watching in all those films is both sublime and ridiculous... I really appreciate that."

Director David Lowery, who has directed Law in both Peter Pan and Wendy and two episodes of Skeleton Crew, also spoke at this momentous occasion. He quipped that, having admired Law in earlier films, "I thought to myself, someday somehow, I'm going to work with this actor, in not one but two projects in which he plays a pirate who gets up to shenanigans with a bunch of runaway children."

Congratulations to Jude Law for this honor. He can be seen as Captain Silvo/Crimson Jack/Jod Na Nawood in new episodes of Skeleton Crew on Disney+.
