Skeleton Crew Episode 6 reminds us why kids are better than adults and how much better life is with your best friend by your side.

Haven't we all argued with our best friends? This week, Skeleton Crew took us back to how it felt to quarrel with our besties when the world was simple.

The latest episode is receiving praise because of Bryce Dallas Howard's direction, but I think the writing is the clear winner in "Zero Friends Again." It's not easy to create a show where not one but four different kids are responsible for carrying the plot forward. Alongside having to push the story ahead, the latest episode had the job of allowing our young heroes some character moments.

We saw growth in each of them as people and the evolution of their relationships. With so much on their plates, these kids have to navigate a dangerous galaxy alone after the man they trusted up to this point betrayed them. As they grappled with fear and panic, the kids had to find a way to leave the ice holiday resort they were stuck in. In the meantime, the dynamics between them went for a toss as they struggled to agree on a strategy to get the Onyx Cinder to function.

The show has introduced us to two pairs of best friends. This week, KB and Fern became the focus, as KB struggled to cope with her health issues and her friend's strong-headedness. They argued, and it allowed KB and Wim to bond and become closer. This ensures that by the time their adventure ends, these kids will all be close to each other, and their friendship circle will grow. KB was worried about losing Fern if she admitted she couldn't run as fast as her, or jump as recklessly as her. But her friendship with Fern grew stronger, and she gained a new buddy in Wim.

Fern and KB's disagreement could've lasted a long time. If they were adults, perhaps it would've. Adults have big egos, and little things can get in the way of adult friendships. The episode showed us how forgiving kids are and how much better life is when your best friend is by your side. It's also great to show childhood friendships, as many kids don't get to experience them for one reason or another. Oftentimes, kids are subjected to bullying at school. Certain kids, especially those with disabilities or maybe those who aren't as rich as their peers, get left out.

This results in scars that alter a child's brain chemistry and impact them into adulthood. Star Wars has done a great job of setting good examples lately. Whether it's showing the beauty of found family, the heroic act of being a good father, or the idea of taking care of your friends, Star Wars writers deserve a lot of appreciation, and we can be sure they have their hearts in the right place.
