Heads up, High Republic fans! The full summary of the next audio drama, Star Wars The High Republic: Tempest Breaker, has been revealed!

Author Cavan Scott shared across his social media channels, this one via Bluesky, his excitement for the reveal! The blurb comes from the publisher Penguin Random House UK's website, and it says:

Lourna Dee is not a villain. She’s not a hero. She’s a survivor. The former Tempest Runner, wanted by both her Nihil allies and the Republic, has evaded imprisonment and death from both groups more times than she can count. But even Lourna cannot outrun the mysterious blight that devours everything wherever it appears. And Marchion Ro, the Eye of the Nihil, has announced that only he knows the secret to stopping it.

Desperate, the Republic and Jedi turn to Lourna with an offer: help the Jedi stop the blight, and in return, Lourna will have a clean slate and the chance to decide her own future.

Teamed with Avar Kriss and Keeve Trennis, the same Jedi who once hunted her, Lourna leads the search for the Nihil’s chief scientist, Baron Boolan, the only being who may have answers to the mystery of the blight, as well as Marchion Ro’s true plans.

Lourna weighs the Republic’s offer of true freedom against her own instincts for survival as her team heads deeper into Nihil territory, straight toward the very dangers Lourna has worked for so long to elude. And when the opportunity arises to face off against Marchion Ro himself, even Lourna Dee may be willing to sacrifice everything to fulfill a quest for revenge.

This summary comes right as New York Comic Con is going on, with two Lucasfilm Publishing panels this weekend! With The High Republic coming to its planned close with Phase III, I'm sure we'll get more news about Tempest Breaker sooner rather than later.

The audio dramas have been a great part of The High Republic as well as in all of Star Wars. Harkening back to the old fan audio dramas, these have been a bit of a staple in the new canon. There have been six so far, with The High Republic having three of them with this title, the first Lourna Dee story being Tempest Runner and The Battle of Jedha. The recent surprise reveal of Padawan’s Pride, all about Padawan Anakin Skywalker, was the latest edition to the roster. The fan-favorite comic character, Doctor Aphra, received an audio drama, which was an adaptation of the Kieron Gillen comic book run of Darth Vader from the point of view of the rogue archaeologist. Last was Dooku: Jedi Lost, which explored the time of Count Dooku as a Jedi, setting the stage for his episodes in Tales of the Jedi, hitting many of the same beats. We can’t wait to see what more will come out of this fun kind of storytelling down the line in a galaxy far, far away.

You can snag The High Republic: Tempest Breaker on December 3rd.
