This week's Star Wars comics have a bit of older new and new older. We get the sequel trilogy titles alongside the High Republic ones, letting us traverse hundreds of years of canon. With several books to get to, let's jump into it!

This Week in Star Wars Comics is Legacy of Vader #4, Fear the Jedi #4, and The High Republic Adventures #18.

Legacy of Vader #4

After having an "eventful" time on Tatoonie (that's sarcasm as he was captured and tortured by a Hutt), Kylo Ren continues his dive into the history of Darth Vader. This brings him to Naboo, where he must learn more about his grandmother, Padme Amidala. Exploring family history isn't easy, especially when there are raiders that get in your way.

I'm extra excited for this title because I want so much more Padme and her legacy to Ben Solo. The fact that he's royalty on both Naboo and Alderaan, the grandson of a slave, and the son of a smuggler just never had enough time to explore in the films. At least the comics and the books get into these kinds of stories.

Legacy of Vader #4 is written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Stefano Raffaele, and the cover artist is Derrick Chew.

The High Republic - Fear of the Jedi #4

"They fly now!?"

"They fly now."

This was the first thing I thought when I saw the preview for this week's Fear of the Jedi, because it's wild! If the Force-eating, Jedi-killing creatures called the Nameless weren't horrifying enough, THEY FLY NOW! In space APPARENTLY! Which is not great for Keeve Trennis and her team in the first of two books continuing the ongoing Battle of Eriadu. As the defence against the Nihil reinforcements, how will they stop this new threat?

Fear of the Jedi #4 is written by Cavan Scott, the illustrator is Marika Cresta, and the cover artist is Phil Noto.

The High Republic Adventures #18

The Battle of Eriadu has all come to this: Jedi Knight Farzala Tarabal vs. the Nihil's Warden. While the villain is willing to do whatever he needs to stop our heroes, including killing his own men, Farzala isn't as eager to risk his friends in the path of battle. Will the Jedi find another way, or will the Nihil conquer Eriadu once and for all?

The High Republic Adventures #18 is written by Daniel José Older, the illustrators are Harvey Tolibao and Michael Atiyeh, and the cover artist is Elisa Romboli.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Volume 3 (Phase III)

The one loan trade paperback out this week is the setup issues for the Battle of Eriadu. Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Volume 3 (Phase III) collects #11-13 of the Dark Horse Comics series as all the players come together for the war on the planet. It also has The Wedding Spectacular, which was a major event issue for The High Republic, featuring the marriage of ex-Jedi Lula Talisola and Zeen Mrala.

That's it for This Week in Star Wars Comics! See you in the splash pages!
