This Week in Star Wars Comics: Tensions rise at the Battle of Jakku

We've reached the halfway point of October. After last week's slew of Star Wars comics, this week might seem a lot more chill. Don't be lulled into that, dear reader, as we continue the current comic book event! Things are ramping up at the Battle of Jakku, and difficult choices have to be made!

The Battle of Jakku — Insurgency Rising #2

Despite the death of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader at the Battle of Endor, a dangerous Grand Moff, Ubrik Adelhard, continues on the Galactic Civil War against the fledgling New Republic. This Moff is making dangerous deals, including with the mysterious group, The Acolytes of the Beyond. Leia Organa and Mon Mothma struggle in the fight, debating if they should be making shady deals of their own to get to total victory.

Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku — Insurgency Rising #2 is written by Alex Segura, the illustrator is Leonard Kirk, and the cover artist is Phil Noto. I will also say that based on a few of the spoilers I have seen from this week's issue, my Star Wars Resistance-loving heart is very happy about this issue. There is also the return of a fan-favorite book character, who was right out front in the preview pages for the issue. Spoilers abound for this one!

So next week is going to be a weird one folks! It's a rare occasion where there are no Star Wars comics out. This sometimes happens, especially say in December when there are breaks for the holidays. However, as someone who has been writing these entries for some time and also ran a comic book store for half of decade, it's sort of strange to not have any entries for next week.
