I sure hope you're surviving the current heat waves here in the U.S., because it's been brutal out there. I feel like each week I say, "It's the perfect time to pick up a Star Wars comic and sit in the AC," and it's for sure true this week as well!
While there are no trade paperbacks out as we round out July, there are two single issues. One brings a publishing initiative to a close, and the other takes place at the ocean. Which sounds nice as long as you don't count the giant monsters trying to eat Jedi. Let's get into it!
This Week in Star Wars Comics, it's The High Republic - The Finale and Hyperspaces Stories - Tides of Terror
The High Republic - The Finale
Originally titled "The Beacon," The High Republic - The Finale is the final piece of the Project Luminous initiative that has been five years in the making. While it's been clear that this is the "End of the beginning," it's still bittersweet to see. The High Republic has touched so many fans across Star Wars. Personally, it has invigorated me for my own personal projects, connected me to new friends in the fandom, and taken creative and new swings in an almost 50-year-old franchise.
This issue will hopefully show the "how" and "why" Jedi Master Keeve Trennis leaves the Jedi Order. Before The High Republic even began, we knew that Keeve was one of The Lost Twenty. This was a group of Jedi Masters who had left the Order throughout history. Count Dooku was also a member, first shown in a deleted scene in Episode II -- Attack of the Clones. Keeve was mentioned to be a member of The Lost in Dooku: Jedi Lost, a year before The High Republic began.
The High Republic - The Finale is written by Cavan Scott, illustrated by Marika Cresta, and the cover artist is Phil Noto.

A new miniseries kicks off from Dark Horse Comics this week, starring Kit Fisto. Hyperspace Stories - Tides of Terror #1 sees the Jedi Master teaming up with Mace Windu and Shaak Ti to save a group of people from a research facility at the bottom of the ocean planet of Tordus. However, it's not a simple trip to the beach. Giant, hungry monsters lurk in the depths. Will the Jedi save them in time?
Hyperspace Stories - Tides of Terror #1 is an all-ages comic written by George Mann, the illustrator is Luis Morocho, and the cover artist is Eduardo Mello.
That's it for This Week in Star Wars Comics! Stay cool out there, and we'll see you in the splash pages!
