Is the first Star Wars: The Force Awakens full theatrical trailer coming on October 15?

As we near the 90 day mark until the theatrical debut of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans have been anxiously awaiting the first full theatrical trailer for the film. We’ve had two previous teaser trailers released, the first coming in November of 2014 and the second coming in April 16 of this year, during the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California. However, as I said, those were just teasers with runtimes of around one and a half to two minutes.

During the Disney Expo — D23 — the uber director himself, J.J. Abrams, declared that there would be no new trailer until the fall, leaving the Star Wars fanbase divided down the middle. On one side you have the fans who excitedly chomp at the bit for any leak, rumor, and bit of news — including every new trailer — that comes from the film before it hits theaters. And, on the other hand, you have fans who would rather know as little as possible about the film, so that they can be surprised at every turn, especially with any plot twists that may happen (See Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back — Darth Vader is Luke’s father).

Enter website The Movie Bit, who posted this tantalizing nugget of information to their Twitter page, yesterday afternoon:

Now, we’ve been hearing rumors that pre-sales for tickets to The Force Awakens may go on sale around the same time as October 15, so it might make sense to have the official full theatrical trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens drop, on that day, as well. While we’re discussing cryptic Tweets from sites known for leaking Star Wars film stuff, Making Star Wars posted this to their Twitter account yesterday, which seems to hint at something…I’ll let you decide.
