Star Wars Rebels character Hera was in Rogue One and Dave Filoni confirmed it!
Now that most Star Wars fans have had a chance to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in theaters, the Easter Eggs for other Star Wars properties have been uncovered. And, now we have confirmation that Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels was in fact in Rogue One….
If you were paying attention to a certain scene in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, while the members of the fledgling Rebel Alliance were preparing for war with the Empire. A voice comes over a loudspeaker paging “General Syndulla.”
Entertainment Weekly asked Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni about this scene and if it was Hera or her father, Cham.
"“I can clarify that’s absolutely Hera being paged, not her dad,” Filoni says. “The movie gives that away, but I would rather have all the [references] be right. Hera will eventually become a general in the Rebel Alliance.”"
While Cham Syndulla was known for his freedom fighting on the planet of Ryloth, he earned a reputation as more of a Saw Gerrera type, and I could not see Mon Mothma’s Rebel Alliance willing to work someone who had been known to use what they saw as terrorist tactics.
So, now we know that Hera, by the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, has been promoted to the rank of General, and it appears as if she still operates from her ship, the Ghost.
