The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson shared a photo from the set of the film to celebrate the announcement of an Episode VIII panel at Star Wars Celebration.

The two months to Star Wars Celebration in Orlando became longer yesterday when the official Star Wars Celebration website announced The Last Jedi panel for day two of the event. Everyone, fans and the film’s cast and crew are excited.

The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is no exception. Yesterday, Johnson shared a photo from the Episode VIII set on his Tumblr and Twitter accounts. The photo, of course, reveals nothing with regard to the plot or any new characters. But it is a reminder of how we are inching closer to the premiere of Episode VIII in December.

See the photo Johnson shared on Twitter below.

In a subsequent tweet, the director confirmed the shot of the stormtroopers was taken on The Last Jedi set.

The First Order suffered a tremendous defeat in The Force Awakens. But they clearly have forces to buttress those they lost. The stormtroopers in Johnson’s photos – their armor clean and shiny – look prepared to kick Resistance fighter butt.

Likely, we will see the First Order stormtroopers in action in one or more of the upcoming Episode VIII trailers. When the first trailer will hit the internet, however, is anyone’s guess. At this point, with Celebration only two months away, it appears Disney and Lucasfilm are waiting for Johnson’s The Last Jedi panel to break out the footage.

The Last Jedi panel at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando will feature Johnson, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, and “special guests” (probably Episode VIII cast members). The panel takes place on Friday, April 14th at the convention center.
