Hasbro has unveiled an all-new line of 6-inch Star Wars Black Series figures for the 40th anniversary of Star Wars….

Hasbro is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Star Wars by recreating a bit of nostalgia for old school Star Wars fans, with a new line of retro-style 6-inch Black Series figures that come much like the original Kenner Star Wars toys of old did, with the plastic bubble and cardboard backing. The figures will cost $19.99, and according to Entertainment Weekly, will be available this spring.

I love what Hasbro is doing here with the retro-vibe, taking us all the way back to 1977 and those original Kenner Star Wars toys. Some of my fondest memories as a child were playing with those Kenner Star Wars toys in the back yard, recreating scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy. Oh man, if my adult self could go back in time and tell my younger self not to take those original Kenner toys out of the packaging….oh well.
