48. Zam Wesell

Major Appearances:

  • Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
  • Star Wars: Bounty Hunter

Best Moment

Zam wasn’t on screen long in Attack of the Clones, but for as long as she was the bounty hunter managed to cause some panic. She set up the bomb that almost killed Padme then she almost killed Padme in her apartment if it hadn’t been thwarted by Obi-Wan and Anakin.

Worst Moment

As great as it was that she almost did her job right, she also almost ratted out Jango Fett — which is a no no when it comes to being respected in the criminal underworld. Bounty Hunters are self employed, but you can’t network when you are selling everyone out — or dead.

Breakdown

Bounty hunter are cool people in the world of Star Wars, and it’s hard to be one that doesn’t come off as awesome. Zam Wesell isn’t a bad bounty hunter, she just isn’t the most appealing that we’ve ever met. Of course, most people are only familiar with the few moments she was in Attack of the Clones, but she isn’t as bad as it may seem.

Zam was given a little more time to develop as a character in the video game Bounty Hunter, which centered on Jango Fett in the time leading up to Attack of the Clones. It wasn’t much but we got to at least see some of the character behind the armor. It wasn’t a whole lot of exposition, but it was more than what we saw of her in any of the movies and it actually helped humanize her by giving her some background.

You never knew you needed a Wampa rug until now.

That being said, she’s still not the most intriguing character in the galaxy and she failed to do the one thing that bounty hunters need to do: stay alive.
