StarWars.com has announced that starting March 14, its annual This is Madness tournament will return with all new Star Wars characters, including those from the newest installment from the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars Rebels. The rules are simple, in This is Madness, characters are divided into two conferences: Light Side and Dark Side. Jedi, scoundrels, Sith, bounty hunters, princesses, and ball-shaped astromechs all compete against each other, and you decide the winner by voting for your favorites.
New entrants this year come from all facets of the Star Wars universe. From Star Wars: The Force Awakens:
- Rey
- BB-8
- Finn
- Kylo Ren
- General Hux
- Captain Phasma
And, from Star Wars Rebels:
- Sabine Wren
- Agent Kallus
- Fifth Brother
- Seventh Sister

SW.com notes that once the competition begins, new matchups occur daily, and are decided by fan voting, which will lead up to a final round where a single character is crowned the champion. Real-time matchup updates are available on the site, letting you know if your favorite characters are winning, or if you need to double your efforts in voting. This year, C-3PO, will offer his opinion on each matchup, which I’m sure will add a whole new level of fun to the competition. Good luck to everyone, and I hope your character wins!
