Rogue One Costumes & Props To Be On Display At Celebration Europe
By Elaine Tveit
Costumes and props from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be on display at Star Wars Celebration Europe in July.
The official Star Wars UK Twitter account announced this morning that a sneak peek of costumes and props from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be on display at Star Wars Celebration Europe in July.
The display was probably inspired by the fan love for the entire floor of The Force Awakens costumes and props at Celebration Anaheim last year. The floor featured items like Kylo Ren’s lightsaber and Rey’s speeder, in addition to the characters’ respective costumes. That was a pretty big sneak peek, as it gave us a clear vision of what the characters would look like and what the aesthetic was for their time and place, physically and spiritually.
With Star Wars UK’s tweet, we also got a look at a tweak made to Rogue One‘s logo. Check out a comparison of the previous logo and the current one below.
Here’s the previous one.
Here’s the new one.
The basic style and orientation of the logo is the same, but the font for Rogue One looks more textured now, while the font for the words Star Wars is a gradient white.

They say your clothes reflect who you are, and a truer word has never been spoken with regard to Star Wars. We’ve already seen that in the first Rogue One teaser trailer, with Donnie Yen’s character’s samurai-like robes, Forrest Whitaker’s old battle armor, and Felicity Jones and Diego Luna’s form-fitting, yet comfortable looking clothes which are clearly meant for action. And who can forget that one Imperial’s cape game? Clearly, each outfit is meant to tell us something about its wearer.
Aside from gaining knowledge about the characters, one benefit of having a Rogue One costume and prop display is cosplayers can get an up close and personal look at how the official outfits are designed. Even though there were already Rey cosplayers at Celebration Anaheim when all we had was the first The Force Awakens teaser trailer, it helped to have the real thing standing there before you to make reference to.
