As revealed on The Star Wars Show today, Gareth Edwards (director – Rogue One) confirmed that a new Rogue One trailer will drop tomorrow morning (time TBD). Here’s the video (skip to 1:24 for the Rogue One trailer announcement).
As we previously reported, thanks to a scoop from Making Star Wars, we had a strong hunch that the final theatrical trailer for Rogue One would drop at the end of this week, and that report was 100% correct.
What we don’t know, however, is if this will, in fact, be the final theatrical trailer for Rogue One. We’ve also previously reported that the final trailer for Rogue One would be attached to Marvel’s Doctor Strange. Disney/Lucasfilm could use tomorrow’s trailer as the one that will be attached to Doctor Strange, or, we could see some sort of extended or altered version, in the theater.
Here’s the official synopsis for Rogue One, from StarWars.com:
"From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves."
