Sources: We will Learn How Han Won the Millennium Falcon from Lando in the Han Solo Star Wars Standalone Film
After Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters this December, the next Star Wars Standalone film will be Han Solo. With that in mind, a new rumor states that we will see how Han won the Falcon from Lando, in that film…
Unless you’ve been living on Dagobah, in a tiny hut without internet access, you probably know that the huge news going into this past weekend was that Atlanta creator and star, Donal Glover, was officially announced to play young Lando Calrissian, in the Han Solo Star Wars standalone film, coming in 2018.
While that news is certainly exciting, as Glover is one of my absolute favorite young and talented actors, according to website Slashfilm is reporting that a very reliable source of The Hollywood Reporter‘s Borys Kit is claiming that we will get to see how Han Solo won the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian, in the film.
What’s exciting about this piece of news, like I actually need to tell you, is that in Empire Strikes Back, Han and Lando talk about the game that Lando lost to Han, where he lost the Falcon. And, of course, in Return of the Jedi, we see Han Solo get very emotional about Lando taking the Falcon into battle, to destroy the second Death Star.

However, we can assume that Han winning the Falcon from Lando won’t be the main focus of the film, as this is basically an origin story for Han Solo and we Star Wars fans know that there is plenty of backstory in Han’s life, for the film. For instance, Han saving Chewbacca from the Empire on Kashyyyk. Regardless, we are extremely excited to see what directors Lord and Miller do with the Han Solo Star Wars standalone film.
