Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Talks Star Wars and Han Solo (Video)
It is always a fun mashup when two of Disney’s own superstar properties, Marvel and Star Wars, come together to make television gold…
In two weeks, on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. former director Coulson will have a fun little conversation with the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D. about Star Wars. If you haven’t been watching Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., well then, you’re missing out on some quality television that features fantastic storylines from the Marvel universe.
As the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Phil Coulson knows a thing or two about running the agency, which is why he hilariously locks horns with the new director, Director Mace, over two renegade heroes, on board Coulson’s ship. Here’s the clip, and listen for the Star Wars conversation:
Han Solo Is Not A Hero – Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, Ep. 6
First of all, Director Mace is absolutely wrong about Han Solo. Yeah, at first Han was a self-serving scoundrel, only looking out for himself and Chewbacca, looking to score some easy credits. But by the end of A New Hope, Han became a hero, helping Luke to destroy the first Death Star.
By Empire Strikes Back, Han was working with the Rebellion on Hoth, running regular patrols, and even saved Luke Skywalker’s life, by placing him inside his dead Tauntaun for warmth. And, in Return of the Jedi, Han commands a Rebel strike force on the forest moon of Endor and brings down the planetary shield that was protecting the second Death Star. Clearly, Director Mace has not watched enough Star Wars to know what he’s even talking about.

And, let’s be honest, while Coulson is right about Admiral Ackbar, he is obviously more of a Han Solo character, than any other character in the Star Wars universe. Coulson has gone rogue on several ops and is more than willing to bend the rules in order to get the win for the good guys.
