Electronic Arts recently announced that a sequel to 2015’s Star Wars Battlefront, would recieve a sequel in the Fall of 2017. Stormtroopers will still be unable to hit the side of Star Destroyer.
Fans of Star Wars: Battlefront will have to wait another year for the latest offering in the first person shooter series from Electronic Arts. During an earnings call for EA, Gamespot reports CFO Blake Jorgensen touched on the upcoming sequel, emphasizing that the game would have more depth than it’s predecessor. Star Wars Battlefront 2 will also continue EA’s goal of releasing one Star Wars related title per calendar year.
Many fans noted the lack of depth in Star Wars: Battlefront, and it appears that Jorgensen and the rest of the team were listening.
"We’re working very hard on making sure that is an extremely deep and engaging offering."

We aren’t sure how one would make the game “deep,” but some form of a campaign mode might go a long way towards fixing that problem. Similar games like the Call of Duty series always feature an award winning single player mode in addition to its online multiplayer.
Jorgensen went on to explain that Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will have “bigger and better” worlds, which sounds awfully like the promises of a certain politician we all know. Hopefully, Jorgensen’s promise to use material from The Force Awakens and/or Rogue One will come to fruition however. Star Wars Battlefront notably lacked material from anything but the Original Trilogy. And who wouldn’t want to run around the jungle on Takodana? Or fly the trench on Starkiller Base? (Note to the Imperials; maybe stop building trenches on your superweapons.)

The “extremely” part of Jorgensen’s statement might prove to be the most difficult to deliver upon, considering the game is essentially just a conquest/capture the flag world filled with stormtroopers. But we are holding out hope that EA will be able to deliver a sequel that proves to be more than just a Kardashian; beautiful, but ultimately empty.
