ABC to Air a Special Look at Rogue One on Thanksgiving Night, November 24

As we enter the last few weeks before the worldwide premiere of the very first standalone Star Wars film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and as the holidays are now upon us, ABC has announced that the network will air a special look at Rogue One on Thanksgiving night, November, 24. As you can see, the special will be mostly a Disney themed show centered on the magical world of Disney theme parks and the lighting of the castles. However, there will be a special look at Rogue One, most likely shown toward the end of the special, so as to draw in Star Wars fans who wouldn’t normally watch the show.

There are two big questions here:

1. Will there be any new footage shown from Rogue One this close to the film’s release?
2. Will there be an announcement regarding Rogue One ticket sales in the US?

Just today, Rogue One ticket sales in the UK opened up, and now Star Wars fans in the US are anxiously awaiting an announcement so we can get our opening day tickets purchased and secured before it’s too late (before they’re sold out).

We’ve been hearing — unofficially — that tickets will open up to US residents on November, 28, but that’s the Monday following Thanksgiving and doesn’t make a whole lot of sense if Lucasfilm is trying to capitalize on the holiday crowd…unless they are going for a Cyber Monday type of deal, then it makes perfect sense.
