Watch 2 New Rogue One TV Spots: “Protect” and “Jyn and Cassian”

Two all-new Rogue One TV spots have aired, with one featuring the relationship between Baze Malbus and Chirrut Îmwe, and the other focusing on the relationship between Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor…

We are just 25 days away from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and today, we have two all-new Rogue One TV spots to show you. It seems with these new Rogue One TV spots, that Lucasfilm is really starting to drive home the bond between different characters from the film. As you will see in the first video, “Protect,” Baze Malbus protects Chirrut Îmwe as they battle the Empire.

First off, you’ve got to love how the X-Wings come in and finish off that AT-ACT after Baze shoots it with his rocket launcher. There’s also a nifty X-Wing barrel role toward the end. However, it’s the dialogue between Baze and Chirrut that’s so great here:

Chirrut: “The Force did protect me.”

Baze: “I protected you.”

Move over Han and Chewie, it seems like these two are going to my favorite new Star Wars buddies (I’m kidding I will always love you Han and Chewie). Moving on, we have the second of our two all-new Rogue One TV Spots which focuses on Jyn and Cassian. Check it out:

Nothing really new here, except we do get a shot of Jyn and Cassian holding hands at what I am sure is probably a pivotal moment in the film.

"From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves. In theaters December 2016.  —"
