Watch an all-new Rogue One teaser: “Trust”
At this point in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story marketing campaign, one would think that Lucasfilm would stop releasing new footage before the film hits on December 16. However, we now have an all-new Rogue One teaser: “Trust”…
We are a mere 20 days until the theatrical premiere of the very first Star Wars standalone film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Lucasfilm keeps churning out even more all-new footage from the film. Today, thanks to the official Star Wars YouTube page, we have a Rogue One teaser titled: “Trust.” Check it out:
So we’ve got a few new scenes to discuss here. We’ve seen this scene before, but in this Rogue One teaser, titled “Trust,” obviously because of the fact that Jyn’s mother, Lyra Erso, tells her to trust the Force as she hands her a necklace with what appears to be a clear, to white Kyber crystal on it. This scene possibly confirms a popular fan theory that Lyra Erso is either Force sensitive or was once a Jedi in training until Order 66 wiped out the Jedi Order and she had to go into hiding.
We also have someone tossing Chirrut Îmwe his staff. When I originally saw this scene, my first thought was that he used the Force to summon it. I think this is intentional on the part of Lucasfilm.
Then we have a continuation of a scene where Baze Malbus fires his rocket launcher into an AT-ACT to no avail, when suddenly, a wild X-Wing squadron appears and saves him!
Here’s an amazing X-Wing barrel role during the battle for the shield gate above the Imperial planet of Scarif.
Looks like we will get a variation of the classic Star Wars Trench Run, in Rogue One.
And finally, this bit of badassery from Chirrut Îmwe as he takes out a bunch of Imperial Stormtroopers, with a little help from his pal, Baze Malbus.
Chirrut: “You almost got me!”
Baze: “You’re welcome.”
