Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is introducing all-new characters into the Star Wars cinematic universe, and being that Rogue One is a one-off or standalone film, we need to know that if we invest two hours and 18 minutes of our life into Rogue One, that we’ll come out actually caring about these new characters.
- Felicity Jones — Jyn Erso
- Diego Luna — Cassian Andor
- Alan Tudyk — K-2SO
- Donnie Yen — Chirrut Îmwe
- Wen Jiang — Baze Malbus
- Riz Ahmed — Bodhi Rook
- Forest Whitaker — Saw Gerrera
- Ben Mendelsohn — Orson Krennic
Of those new characters, who will we care about most? Odds are, Jyn Erso, being the heroine of the film, will make her the most invested in character from Rogue One. However, what of the rest? What of Chirrut and his odd connection to the Force? What about Cassian Andor who seems to be willing to anything to help Jyn on her mission? How about K-2SO, the wisecracking droid that is sure to steal scenes?

Until we all see the film on December 16, or afterward, we won’t know who to invest our feelings into, but one thing is for sure, it appears as if Gareth Edwards has gone to great lengths to create a film that is character rich and action packed.
