See The Cast Of Stranger Things As Star Wars Characters

As if Stranger Things by itself wasn’t enough of a nostalgia trip, how about Stranger Things mashed up with Star Wars? The movie casts itself.

In summer 2016, a Netflix original show called Stranger Things took the United States by storm. Set in the 1980s, the series focuses on a group of children looking for their missing friend. The story is full of humor, suspense, mystery, monsters, and even a little romance.

Sounds like a good Star Wars movie, right? Artist Michael Maher, Jr. apparently thought so. He even realized the main cast of Stranger Things would make perfect stand-ins for the main cast of A New Hope.

Don’t take our word for it, though. Check out Maher’s poster rendition of Star Wars, Stranger Things-style (via Inverse).

Starting at the top and moving clockwise, here are the actors from the Netflix Series: Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) as Princess Leia; Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) as Luke Skywalker; Chewbacca wearing Gaten Matarazzo’s (Dustin Henderson) hat from the show; Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) as Han Solo; and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair) as Lando Calrissian.

Each role seems made for these actors. Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard’s characters in Stranger Things have a cute romance going on, just like Leia and Han. Plus, Brown looks enough like a young Leia, she could probably pull off playing her in a real Star Wars movie.

Next, Noah Schnapp’s Stranger Things character, Will Byers, is a lot like Luke in the sense both heroes are at the center of the destinies of everyone else. Matarazzo is just perfect as Chewbacca: funny, supportive, loud, and a bit hairy. Finally, McLaughlin’s Lucas in Stranger Things and Lando from Star Wars have a lot in common. They’re stylish, determined, a bit skeptical, and sometimes run into arguments with close friends.
