Now that we know the official title for Star Wars: Episode VIII is The Last Jedi, we now look at when the first trailer for the film will air….

On Monday, Lucasfilm finally revealed the official title for Star Wars: Episode VIII as The Last Jedi. As one might expect, this sent shockwaves throughout the internet with fans across the globe wondering what “The Last Jedi” meant for Luke Skywalker and Rey.

Of course, as many Star Wars fans know, both the singular and plural of Jedi, is Jedi, so, the film’s official title doesn’t necessarily spell doom and gloom for the self-exiled Jedi Master that only saw a few seconds of screen time in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Now that Lucasfilm has unveiled the title, Star Wars fans begin to wonder when the first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi will air and although we don’t have any official confirmation on when that will happen, we do have some fairly substantial clues.

During the worldwide premiere for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy, was asked when we might see a trailer for Episode VIII:

"“Probably heading into spring, you’ll start to see things.”"

Well, the end of January isn’t quite “heading into spring,” which means Star Wars fans shouldn’t expect a trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi during the Superbowl. However, we do know that the 2017 Star Wars Celebration is in April, which most likely means we will see the first trailer for the film then.

This year’s Star Wars Celebration will be held at Disney World, and we can’t help but place all our bets on the possibility of the first trailer for Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi being shown there, the new home of Lucasfilm.
