Watch an all-new trailer for Star Wars Rebels: Legacy of Mandalore
Star Wars Rebels has taken a small winter hiatus recently, but now, the wildly popular animated show is back with Legacy of Mandalore….
It all comes down to this. Sabine has been tirelessly working with blind Jedi Master Kanan Jarrus in order to learn how to use her people’s legacy, the Darksaber. Now, in hopes of getting the Mandalorian people to side with the fledgling Rebellion, Sabine and some of the crew of the Ghost — including Ezra Bridger — must return to Sabine’s home on Mandalore, and face her own mother.
"Sabine arrives on her homeworld with something unexpected…"
As you can see, Sabine’s mother and clan are none too happy to see her. That’s because Sabine used to be part of the Empire’s war machine, making weapons of mass destruction, until she decided it was wrong, and she left the Empire and her family behind.
In retaliation for Sabine abandoning her post, the Empire used the very same weapons she helped to create, to bring down fire and destruction on Mandalore, punishing Sabine’s people.
But now she’s back, and she is bringing an ancient Mandalorian weapon with her, with the hope that it will be a symbol to her people to rally behind her and the Rebellion, and fight the Empire.
From Star Wars Wiki:
"“Legend tells that it was created over a thousand years ago by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian ever inducted into the Jedi Order. After his passing, the Jedi kept the saber in their temple. That was until members of House Vizsla snuck in and liberated it. They used the saber to unify the people and strike down those who would have opposed them. One time, they ruled all of Mandalore wielding this blade. This saber is an important symbol to that house and respected by the other clans.” – Fenn Rau"
With this in mind, Sabine must try and rally the clans of Mandalore, in order to stand with the Rebellion and fight the Empire. With Kanan, Fenn Rau, and Ezra by her side let’s hope she is successful.
