Months after the tragic loss of Star Wars iconic actress Carrie Fisher (Princess/General Leia), her brother Todd Fisher has come forward to confirm she will be in Star Wars Episode IX….
The late Carrie Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, has told the New York Daily News that his sister will, in fact, appear in Star Wars: Episode IX. This means that, regardless of how Disney and Lucasfilm decided to proceed with Fisher’s death on-screen with her character Leia, she will be alive in Episode IX, at least through some of the film.
According to Todd Fisher, Lucasfilm approached him and Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd about using recent footage of Carrie, in Episode IX.

"Both of us were like, ‘Yes, how do you take her out of it?’ And the answer is you don’t. She’s as much a part of it as anything and I think her presence now is even more powerful than it was, like Obi-Wan — when the saber cuts him down he becomes more powerful. I feel like that’s what’s happened with Carrie. I think the legacy should continue."
Todd Fisher says he doesn’t know to what extent his sister will be used in Star Wars: Episode IX, the last film in the sequel trilogy, and a film being directed by Colin Trevorrow. However, he did say that he had total faith in the filmmaker’s choices.
Fisher also commented on his sister’s legacy, saying that messing with Princess Leia would be like rewriting the Bible and that Star Wars was the Holy Grail of storytelling. We don’t disagree.
