Will Force-ghost Yoda be in The Last Jedi?

If you’ve watched The Last Jedi trailer a few times, you might’ve noticed from a distance, swinging a lightsaber in front of a statue. Well, what if some of it was a statue, and something else?

If you’re like me, you’ve already watched The Last Jedi teaser trailer 20-25 times. You may have noticed a clip where you saw Rey training with a lightsaber in front of, what seems like, a statue, with Luke looking on. But was it really just a statue? Or was there more to it?

When I first watched the trailer, I did notice a statue, or what looked like a statue. But shortly after the teaser was released, theories began to surface on what looks to be Yoda sitting on top of the statue, or rock.

If you look closely at it, the silhouette looks very similar to Yoda. Very similar. Now, let’s take a look at why this is possible.

More from Dork Side of the Force

In Return of the Jedi, Yoda told Luke a premonition:

"“Luke, when gone am I… the last of the Jedi will you be. Luke, the Force runs strong in your family. Pass on what you have learned, Luke.”"

Yoda is forever tied to this, he is forever tied to releasing this premonition. Yoda has, and always will be, concerned with the future of the Jedi, or lack thereof.

Yoda’s concern for the light side of the Force continuing on is the very reason he could be in The Last Jedi. Yoda’s connection with the premonition is another reason why he could be in The Last Jedi.

Obviously, all of this seems like a pipedream, that’s because it is. But all of this is fun to speculate on, right? What do you think? Could that be Yoda’s Force Ghost sitting atop that rock? Let’s discuss in the comments.
