On Monday, TheForce.Net reported a merchandise leak which shows off some new characters from The Last Jedi. The source of spoilers that is Making Star Wars then confirmed that the new artwork on the merchandise shows one of Supreme Leader Snoke’s Elite Praetorian guards.
According to Jason Ward, MSW’s founder and editor-in-chief, the artwork on the far left can in this picture features of one of Supreme Leader Snoke’s elite guards. The guard is similar in design to Emperor Palpatine’s red-garbed lackeys in Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith. There are just a few stylistic differences to set them apart. For example, the helmet on Snoke’s guard is more closed off. Furthermore, his or her sleeves are ridged.

In a previous article, Ward writes that Snoke has six to eight guards. They each wear the same type of outfit, but each of them carries a different weapon. For example, the one in the cup artwork carries some kind of stick weapon, perhaps a blade or an ax. Ward calls the guards “Praetorian guards,” a moniker he says may just be a placeholder name.
Whoever Snoke is, it appears he is taking some cues from the former big bad of the galaxy.
Neither Ward or TFN, however, conveyed any guesses at who or what the character on the far right can is. The armor on that character is similar to the Elite Praetorian style, though the helmet is different. Maybe Snoke’s guards all wear different helmets, as well.
As always, remember to take all rumors with a grain of salt until they are confirmed by Lucasfilm.
