Dave Filoni reveals Ahsoka and Kanan knew each other during the Clone Wars
Dave Filoni has revealed on Twitter that Ahsoka Tano and Kanan Jarrus knew each other as Jedi Padawans during the Clone Wars…
There is nothing like the continuity of Disney’s new Star Wars canon, and that was proven on Friday when Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni revealed via his personal Twitter account that Ahsoka and Kanan knew each other when they were young and training as Jedi Padawans during the Clone Wars.
Filoni, who often posts his own art through social media, so that fans can enjoy a behind the scenes look into the creative mind behind Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, posted a piece of artwork on Friday that explained how Ahsoka Tano and Kanan Jarrus knew each other.
As Filoni explains, the pair did not know each other very well, but they did go through saber training together. And, when Ahsoka (now Fulcrum) met Kanan years later, she needed to assess his skills, in order to see if he was ready to face the challenges ahead.

Filoni also posted a piece of art (in the tweet above) depicting Ahsoka and Kanan training, with the former handing the latter his lightsaber after he’d been disarmed.
This exactly why we love Dave Filoni so much. He carries a passion and knowledge of Star Wars like a very rare few in the Lucasfilm family can.
His intimate knowledge of characters he’s helped create to bring on-screen, like fan favorites Ahsoka Tano, for instance, is astounding.
And the fact that he continues to tell the stories of these characters, long after their time in the spotlight is over, makes him an invaluable follow on social media platforms like Twitter.
Now, if we can just get him to bring Ahsoka back to Star Wars Rebels for its final season, all would be perfect.
