Robot Chicken taking on The Force Awakens and Rogue One
If you’re a fan of Robot Chicken and Star Wars, we’ve got some good news for you, as the show will be tackling The Force Awakens and Rogue One for its next season…
If you aren’t familiar with Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken, it’s an animated show that parodies many pop-culture iconic television shows and films. Comicbook.com recently interviewed the creators of the show and found out that both The Force Awakens and Rogue One will be the next Star Wars films to be parodied.
Producer Doug Goldstein talked about the frustration of popular films coming out during Robot Chicken’s offseason.
"Luckily, when Season 9 airs, we’re finally getting a chance to do Force Awakens and Rogue One. It is so frustrating to be between seasons and awesome stuff happens and we’re like, ‘We gotta get back to work.’ The Star Wars stuff we did this season is pretty smart."
For reference, Robot Chicken has hilariously taken on other Star Wars films.

Producer Matthew Senreich discussed the change of relationship from dealing with George Lucas to now having to answer to a media giant like Disney.
"When he sold the company to Disney, it changed the relationship…it comes down to corporations playing with each other. As much as we know those people, and they like us and we like them, we are dealing with billion dollar companies that couldn’t care less what we think and how well we know each other."
According to Comicbook.com, Robot Chicken season 9 doesn’t have a precise premiere date yet, but that it should happen sometime this fall. Hopefully, we’ll get some great laughs from the show taking on the new Star Wars films.
