Lucasfilm confirms trailer on Monday, October 9, releases new teasers

Lucasfilm/Disney have finally confirmed what we all knew was coming, the full cinematic trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi will drop tomorrow night…

The speculation has finally been put to rest and the long wait for not only the cinematic trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi but advanced ticket sales for the film as well, will drop tomorrow night, Monday, October 9, during the Monday Night Football game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears on ESPN.

The announcement was made via the official Star Wars Twitter account:

As you can see, it’s a simple shot of Rey going through some lightsaber training, with a flourish ending the shot. This isn’t the only trailer announcement, however, as a YouTube video popped up soon after announcing when the trailer would air.

More from Dork Side of the Force

This trailer has a lot packed into 16 seconds. First, you have the previously seen shot of Rey with her hands on the pebble-strewn beach, Luke Skywalker reminding her to “breathe, just breathe.”

But then, we get an all-new shot of Kylo Ren picking up his signature crossguard lightsaber in what appears to be Supreme Leader Snoke’s red adorned throne room with his Praetorian Gaurd standing along the wall.

The final shot is also new, as the robotic hand of Luke Skywalker reaches out to grab his familial lightsaber from Rey, in what is a continuation of the final scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

And then, we get the title card that tomorrow, during Monday Night Football, we’ll see the full cinematic trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Next: Star Wars: The Last Jedi tickets will go on sale Monday, October 9

Stay tuned to Dork Side of the Force as we will bring you full coverage of that trailer and when you can purchase your tickets.
