The journey to The Last Jedi continues with the Battlefront II campaign story-mode trailer…

"Ignite the inferno and burn the Rebellion to the ground in Star Wars Battlefront II’s single-player campaign. Take on the role of Commander Iden Versio in a story following the destruction of the Death Star II and the death of the Emperor."

The new Star Wars video game experience — Battlefront II — drops November 17, with the highly anticipated canon story-mode part of that mix. We are taken through Imperial eyes with Iden Versio — catch up with her origins story here — following the events of Return of the Jedi, leading all the way up to The Force Awakens. What do we know of the story-plot up to this point? Iden Versio — voiced and motion-captured by the talented Janina Gavankar — and her Inferno Squad are tasked with exacting the Emperor’s revenge — Operation Cinder — which unknown to them is a two-fold plan. Upon Emperor Palpatine’s death, he not only had a contingency plan to wipe out the Rebels — if they reigned victoriously — but also take down the Empire in the process.

We learn in the Aftermath trilogy novels that the Emperor not only wanted to self-destruct the Empire but selected just a handful of remaining Imperial survivors to flee to the Unknown Regions to seek out the power of the Dark Side that had originally been calling to him — which we learn later is (most likely) the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke.

The game will include Inferno Squad missions — which take place over a course of close to 30 years — on planets such as Endor, Yavin IV, Naboo, Takodana, and more. There were also be appearances from Maz Kanata — could Iden flee the Imperials and seek refuge? — Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Kylo Ren.
