Marvel Star Wars: A preview of what’s next for Darth Vader comic series

In the upcoming Marvel Stars Wars issue of Darth Vader, we’ll most likely see the end of Jedi Archivist Jocasta Nu.

With Darth Vader hot on her trail she flees the Jedi temple with a treasured piece of information, a list of Force Sensitive Children across the galaxy. With this information, she could restore the Jedi Order and eventually overtake the Sith bring down the Empire.

However, in the last issue, she made the grievous mistake of confronting the Grand Inquisitor, who she found in the archives mistreating her beloved materials. It’s this confrontation that delays her exit long enough for Darth Vader to learn of a Jedi’s presence on Coruscant. Now, Jocasta Nu may pay dearly for not making a quiet escape when she had the chance.

It’s also hinted at the Darth Vader’s true identity will be revealed in this issue. Most likely Jocasta Nu will learn that he was the Jedi formerly known as Anakin Skywalker. It is certain that this revelation along with Vader’s increasing handle on his powers will spell doom for the Jedi Archivist.

On the heels of his confrontation with Jocasta Nu, Darth Vader discovers that a Bounty Hunter has been hired to Eliminate him. There is someone perhaps in the Empire that would like to see Vader eliminated.  Considering how Vader has handled Imperial Officers and Inquisitors alike, he has indeed made plenty of enemies in a short span.

The real question is what bounty hunter would take this assignment. Could Clone Wars favorite Cad Bane be making an appearance?  We can only hope, either way with a bevy of bounty hunters in Star Wars lore I am sure Vader will find himself face to face with a formidable foe.

More from Dork Side of the Force

After Vader deals with the Bounty Hunter hired to take him down, he is in charge of squelching stirrings of the Rebellion. The inhabitants of the Mon Cala system are not sitting too well with the Empire continuing to tighten their grasp of the Galaxy. Presumably, led by Admiral Akbar, the Mon Cala are resisting Imperial control.

Vader is tasked with silencing these stirring with the Inquisitors in his command and Tarkin watching closely. Tarkin will no doubt try to assume control of the Mission. Darth Vader will then begin to see he now has Rivals within the Empire aside from the inquisitors.

Soule’s run with post Revenge of the Sith, Vader is action-packed. And we’re given the character development we’ve been craving from a Darth Vader Story arc.
