Well, folks, we have entered the dark days. By that I mean, the next 11 months between now and Star Wars Celebration (where they’ll tell us the title of Star Wars: Episode IX) where information will be scarce…
For the next 11 months, we’re not entirely sure what we’ll be getting regarding Star Wars content. The upcoming film is the yet untitled Star Wars: Episode IX, and it is still so shrouded in mystery!
However, reports say that the wheels are starting to turn at Pinewood Studios in relation to Star Wars: Episode IX!
Recently Dan Mindel, who was Director of Photography for J.J. Abrams on the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film, posted a photo on Instagram tagging his location as Pinewood Studios.

This would seem to suggest that he is in fact there, presumably with the cast and crew of the upcoming film, beginning production. He has no deleted this image from his account, but the link you can view it here, thanks to our friends at MakingStarWars.Net for finding this gem.
Hopefully, Mindel continues to throw production scraps our way during this information drought we are entering.
"It was originally announced that John Schwartzman was going to be the DP on Star Wars: Episode IX and it would be shot on 65mm. Perhaps that changed when Colin Trevorrow left Episode IX and it makes sense with J.J. Abrams returning he would bring Mindel back too."
There were quite a few leaks during J.J. Abrams reign over Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so I can only hope that there will be a similar level of information this go around.
My guess is that Disney will allow some things to leak to keep interest piqued. If we have 11 months of absolutely no new knowledge regarding the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX they may have a fan riot on their hands (I mean, in addition to the “We hate The Last Jedi riot that has been going on since December).
