Star Wars: Episode IX leaked set photo is from Pirates of the Caribbean

A leaked set photo from Star Wars: Episode IX has been deemed a fake and actually from the set of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Reports came in thick and fast recently that a set photo from Star Wars: Episode IX had been leaked. However, that image has now been deemed a fake and is actually from another Disney franchise, Pirates of the Caribean.

The leak originated on Reddit, with the caption, “leaked set photo.” Star Wars fans immediately started to debate on what this set photo could be. Some made suggestions this is the supposed Jungle Planet that has been rumored to feature, along with some other possibilities, and those who remained skeptical over if this was a genuine set photo or not.

Those who were skeptical proved to be right in the end, as the image has actually come from a time-lapse video of Pirates of the Caribean. More specifically, the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides chapter.

This certainly isn’t the first time, and it certainly won’t be the last time either, of a Star Wars: Episode IX leaks turning out to be from something else entirely. Not too long ago, an image was revealed, and many assumed that it was a set photo for Star Wars: Episode IX, only for it turn out to be from John Carter.
