Star Wars Resistance: 5 characters we could see on the animated show

With more of the Star Wars movie characters making their way on to Star Wars Resistance, here are five others we think could make an appearance.

Star Wars Resistance has been all the rage among fans of the genre, and while it is geared towards a younger audience, it seems to appeal to a wide array of age groups. So far the series has featured appearances from new trilogy characters such as Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma, as well as original trilogy characters like General Leia.

Every week, fans look forward to seeing Kaz’s adventures of spying for the Resistance, and alongside him is everyone’s favorite new droid – BB-8. It seems that we are constantly seeing characters from the movies appear on Star Wars Resistance, and there have only been a handful of episodes so far!

Having someone as popular as Oscar Isaac reprise his role as Poe Dameron for an animated series is something that doesn’t happen often, and that has really set Star Wars Resistance apart from any other Star Wars television show.

More from Star Wars Resistance

While Star Wars Rebels featured a wealth of characters from the expanded universe, it seems as though the current series will up the ante in that area, giving us all a glimpse of current movie characters in the time between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Kaz and BB-8 are a lovable team so far, but it is still important for Star Wars Resistance to throw in appearances from more popular characters. While there is no clear indication as to whom we could see on the series, I think I have a few logical guesses as to who may appear, and I can’t wait to see more Star Wars movie characters show up when you least expect them.

1. Han Solo

We have already seen a cameo appearance from General Leia on the show, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see General Solo as well. Star Wars Resistance takes place only six months before the events of The Force Awakens, meaning that there is a brief window of opportunity to have Han Solo on the show before he meets his demise. Not only would this draw in huge amounts of ratings, but it would also give fans a chance to say one final goodbye to the original Han Solo, and it would be interesting to see one of the greatest Resistance fighters in the universe give Kaz some much-needed advice.

2. Rey

That cast would not be complete without the newest Jedi in the Star Wars universe – Rey herself. With Oscar Isaac and John Boyega providing their actual voices for the characters they portray, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Daisy Ridley follow suit since the show will eventually catch up to The Force Awakens.

Having an appearance from the star of the current trilogy would be certain to draw in the most ratings so far.

3. Chewbacca

It seems that every main character involved in the new Star Wars trilogy has been accounted for, with the lone exception of Chewbacca. I have a theory on this. It takes a special voice actor to bring C-3PO or Kylo Ren to life, but Chewbacca doesn’t have a true voice. Joonas Suotamo, whether he chooses to provide the voice of Chewbacca, simply isn’t needed for it.

If Han Solo does make an appearance on Star Wars Resistance, which I think is likely, he wouldn’t do so without his most trusted companion. It seems that a lot of secondary characters are making their way over to Resistance very quickly, and I wouldn’t expect for Chewy to be any different.

4. DJ

DJ was a character that wasn’t received well by fans in The Last Jedi, but I feel like he could add a mischievous flare to Star Wars Resistance. DJ’s past is shrouded in mystery, but what we do know for a fact is that he creates trouble wherever he goes.

Putting a con man of his status on the Colossus would be sure to create a lot of trouble for Kaz, and it could possibly teach him something about being a spy. Benicio Del Toro reprising his role would make the whole idea so much sweeter, and I know for a fact that it would improve the fan perception of the character.

5. Lando Calrissian

Lando has been to every slum in the galaxy, so having him take a visit to the more than hostile Colossus wouldn’t be out of the question.

This is a character that a lot of fans have always closely identified with, and with his popularity comes viewers. Billy Dee Williams has already lent his voice to Lando on Star Wars Rebels, so having him come back for Resistance is certainly not a farfetched prospect, and I would love to see Calrissian grace the silver screen once more.
