The Mandalorian: Bounty hunters from the original trilogy expected – but not your favorite

The Mandalorian is rumored to feature bounty hunters from the Star Wars original trilogy – just not the one you were hoping for.

While Star Wars fans have clamored for their favorite bounty hunter, it seems that a few former ones could make their way onto The Mandalorian – just not the one you want.

IG-88 and Bossk are rumored to appear in The Mandalorian, according to Making Star Wars. These bounty hunters have appeared in and have been mentioned in other outlets including the original trilogy.

More from The Mandalorian

While having them potentially in the live-action Star Wars series coming in 2019, they weren’t the bounty hunter many fans had hoped for. Boba Fett has been a fan favorite for a long time and there was a potential movie that would showcase him, but that got killed in the favor of The Mandalorian.

Yet, Boba Fett was mentioned in the outset of the previews for the show. When posting about The Mandalorian for the first time on his Instagram, Jon Favreau’s post started with, “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe.”

There’s been hints and ties to Boba Fett, and now we are potentially getting a few of his “friends.” Granted bounty hunters aren’t really friends, but we are talking about people that run in the same circles.

I’m not saying Boba Fett will appear in The Mandalorian, it just seems the PTB keep skirting around it as much as possible.

Also, I don’t want to take anything away from IG-88 and Bossk. If true, it will be interesting get some characters from the original trilogy in The Mandalorian, giving Star Wars fans some tie-ins to the movies that started it all.

It’s not clear what their roles are either. They could have small roles are part of the bigger storyline. That’s still info we will have to wait to find.
