Dork Side of the Force podcast: Dissecting Master & Apprentice

The latest Dork Side of the Force podcast reviews the Star Wars novel Master & Apprentice and breaks down some of those interesting prophecies.

Master & Apprentice is one of the latest Star Wars novels, and focuses on Obi-Wan Keonbi and Qui-Gon Jinn before The Phantom Menace.

Claudia Gray’s novel looks at this still early relationship between the Master and Padawan, looking at the challenges they face before becoming the formidable duo we meet in Episode I. Obi-Wan is about 16 years old in the book, putting this several years for The Phantom Menace.

But there was so much more to Master & Apprentice than that. We met new characters including a non-traditional Jedi, and heard new prophecies. Check out the latest Dork Side of the Force podcast as Sooz and Meg review the book and get into the details.

What is Master & Apprentice about?

The book follows Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn on a mission to the planet Pijal. There we meet a new Jedi, who isn’t what you expect of Jedi, but he has a charm about him. Rael wears disheveled clothes and doesn’t behave the way you think Jedi should.

Both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are tested including their detective skills, their fighting skills and their trust in each other.

The Star Wars novels introduces several new characters, including the Jedi Rael, Fanry, but also brings backs some familiar characters such as Count Dooku, Mace Windu and Yoda.
